Rediscovered

Has anyone been into American Eagle lately?! I must admit the last time I’ve entered the store is probably circa 2005 when it was the only store other than A&F I would consider being seen in. Over the weekend my sister came home with bags full of AE finds that were adorable and post-college appropriate. Immediately I checked out the old familiar website and was pleasantly surprised with all the looks. Although the branching out to other brands was completely necessary after high school to define a more personal style, it is nice to reconnect with classic favorites.

Best Bites

granola balls on cutting board

My best friend is like my personal walking Women’s Health magazine, constantly sharing workouts, recipes, and inspiration. One conversation with her can put me back on track if I have fallen into an exercise slump and she recently suggested these energy balls for an on-the-go pre or post gym session snack. They are basically a homemade granola bar without the mystery processed ingredients and taste amazing! I love grabbing a couple of these on my way to work and paired with my fruit smoothie the duo leaves me full until lunch time. Thank you, Engrid!

Rainy Day Heat Wave

A few weeks ago I randomly decided to pick up Nars “Heat Wave” after a few laps around Sephora convincing myself $24 was acceptable to spend on something that could potentially make me look like a clown. I have been seeing it everywhere but hesitant to try it because most mornings all I want is a serious lip treatment for chapped skin. What I love is the texture and matte finish and how you can apply it right from the tube, or with a lip brush for a lighter version of the shade. I have been experimenting with it mostly for glammed up nights out, but today it felt fun to wear no makeup except for the bright pop of color before doing some errands around Coolidge Corner.

Weekend Recap

There is nothing quite like girl time spent with friends who have known each other since kindergarten. This past weekend I ventured home to NH to celebrate a girlfriend’s upcoming wedding and per the bride-to-be’s request, we had a low key night catching up over champagne, mudslides, sangria and comfort food. The eight hour marathon event included mani/pedi’s, getting ready together with a throw back playlist, dinner at an old favorite restaurant, lingerie presents and a hot tub nightcap. A big thank you to the BF for putting up with our antics as our driver for the night!

One of my favorite ways to celebrate is by turning birthdays into week long events. That is just what we did for my boyfriend last week which included a romantic date night out, beer tasting with a large group of friends, and an entire day of doing whatever we felt like in the moment.
